Just finished up with the Kaplan simulated half (150 question) exam and scored 65%. Just yesterday I scored 242 on NBME 15 followed by 80% and 82% on two 40 question Uworld blocks (total of 280 questions to simulate real thing) and last week I scored 236 on NBME 18. I don’t believe verbal has any correlation to actual step scores. Obviously you’ll need to be able to read journal articles and all of that but when it comes to test taking, it’s more about picking out what the question is asking and doing enough practice questions to recognize what they are asking for. I did the kaplan simulated exam 4 days ago and I scored 64%. Sad that they dont give a score correlation. As you said the forums tell that 65% is a score needed to pass. Obviously you’ll need to be able to read journal articles and all of that but when it comes to test taking, it’s more about picking out what the question is asking and doing enough practice questions to recognize what they are asking for.
